How to Become a Recognised Centre
All Centres wishing to use OCN accreditation and NOCN Qualifications need to make sure that they can meet our quality assurance and systems requirements before starting to deliver their courses.
The OCN provides support to new Centres whether you have long established systems or are just starting out. There is support for all of your needs and training is available coupled with nationally recognised quality assurance awards.
Setting Out Your Details
To help us assess your needs the first step to becoming a recognised centre is to fill out our
Business Enquiry Form,
which you should then return to the
Business Development Administrator
. This form is used by the OCN to make an initial assessment of your needs.
Centre Recognition Application
Once your Enquiry Form has been received we will appoint a named Business Development Adviser (BDA), who will arrange a meeting with you and send you our Centre Recognition Pack which contains the application form and our Terms and Conditions.
When you meet with the BDA they will take you through the Centre Recognition process, explain our systems and procedures and our service and product charges; whilst we aim to make this process as simple as possible, we need to ensure that you have robust quality assurance arrangements in place to support your learners’ needs.
We offer free Centre Support Training to key staff within the centre to support the development of OCN assessment procedures and quality assurance systems.
Our Quality Assurance requirements are in line with the Common Inspection Framework and the Quality Improvement Agency. OCN quality systems can also be mapped to support ISO 9001, Investors in People, the Business Excellence, Matrix and Recognising and Recording Progression and Achievement (RARPA)

After meeting with you your BDA will make an assessment of your proposed course and qualification offer, your quality assurance and administration systems. If you meet our criteria then your Centre will become a Recognised Centre for the delivery and quality assurance of OCN accredited courses and NOCN Qualifications. We’ll send you a letter confirming this and your Centre’s Recognition Certificate.
If your Centre needs to develop its systems and processes we can work with you and support you to develop these. The OCN will make a charge for this support.
Curriculum Development
Once your Centre is recognised you can start to put together your curriculum offer.
We aim to ensure that you have all the support and guidance you need to deliver our qualifications and local accreditation, to your learners and are committed to providing excellent customer service and value for money. To ensure this each Centre is appointed a dedicated Centre Support Team that will support all your needs from recognition to certification
